||This person said his name was John Kavenaugh and he was with some payday loan company. He called my mother, father and my husband stating that if I didnt pay in hours I was going to have a federal offense set up against me. He had my social my old address and even knew my place of employment. Where he messed up was when I notified my legal representative and they wanted to talk to him about it he got really offensive and he wanted me to pay dollars of a debt that I did not have. He stated it was a loan that I owed from and it was on my old credit report. WellI monitor my credit very closely and had credit reports from years past right in front of me and there were no loans that were negative on there. So when I gave him the number tothe office that he should send my court order to he was very upset. He wanted my checking account information and for me to pay dollars one day and the rest the next. However, I am military and we are not allowed to take payday loans. I have also not taken any loans out that I have not paid back. The thing that worries me is that he has my full social and my family contact information. I have just put fraud alert and I also wish that I could change my social security number. These people are [***] for what they are doing. Trying to scam people out of money. They need to get a job and a life........
||this # was on my caller ID. ??? I see quite a few people get unwanted calls from this #. Anoying especially because I pay for all incoming calls.
||It's legit. Guy on the phone knows my info when I demanded from him. Just checking up on my recent purchase online
||Always a man saying he is with the Navient collections department for defaulted loans. I am a co-signer on my ex-wife's massage school loan from like ten years ago. She stopped paying they
started calling and are always very unprofessional and rude. Each time someone new gets "assigned" they claim that they are the last person who will handle the loan and that they are my last
chance and being able to settle the account before it becomes a permanent stain on my credit report. I've had about 4 people in 3 months tell me that they once it leaves their office then
I will have to pay the full balance before the loan will be released. This is a complete lie. The person on the other end always says that they will release me from the loan only
if I will agree to pay a lump sum of no less than 22.5%, Which they claim is the lowest amount that they can take.
To all who read this, please trust what I'm about to tell you because I've been scammed by people like this before. These are scam artists and you learn to identify them by the way they talk. Very
rude, short, unprofessional, and very sketchy with giving you any information of how to authenticate them. I was fooled a few years back when they called me wanting to collect on an old US Bank
debt. They debt was real but after I paid them the settled on figure of $800 by way of direct deposit I found out they they weren't. Any company that threatens to sue you, or that gets combative
when you ask for information to confirm their identity, or that won't allow you to make small monthly payments without a big down payment, or leaves a case number with their voicemail is a scam.
Since I had to learn this the hard way I am now always very thorough with any calls I receive from a " debt collector"....
So anyway when I got the call from these guys I played along and said I'd pay the 22.5% but I would have to make monthly payments....
The guy got rude after I stuck to my guns and said I refused to pay a lump sum. He hung up on me and I immediately called Navient and asked them if this was an authentic number.... Of course
it wasn't. I was told that there are only 4 main numbers and departments that would be calling me about my account and they were all associated with the federal student loan program,
which these scam artist denied being a part of once I called back pretending to be clueless. I acted like I wanted to pay but needing a little more information first. They quickly got aggravated an$
became defensive with my questions. Any real bill collector will willingly cooperate when you mention the FCRA and tell them you need to see proof that they havve the authority to collect
the debt. Real debt collectors will also be able to give you a copy of the original loan paperwork that you signed. If they can not/will not, it is either a scam or a poorly ran debt collection
I called Navient and gave the agent this number and asked if it was authentic. Of course she said that it was not and that soeone was trying to scam me... She said that there are only three
authentic Navient branches that would be calling and they were all associated with federal programs including NelNet, which offers loan forgiveness to people who are on disability, which I am.
She gave me a number to call tomorrow and said that they should be able to transfer my loan to NelNet so it could be completely forgiven, something this scam number wouldn't offer. They make
constant threats and try to bully you but please DON'T BELIEVE THEM! The real Navient offers deferment and forbearance if you need time to make a payment. If you aren't sure if the people that
called you are who they say they are, always get as much info about the company as you can before hanging up. Then visit the official company website for the phone number. Better safe than sorry!
Nowadays it's easy for scammers to make money of old debt. Companies will sell old debt they couldn't settle with the borrower or that they charged off to outside third parties for pennies on the
dollar which quickly gets divided up and resold at a profit to ghost companies that use illegal or questionable collection practices. They won't provide you with accurate information because
they don't want to be sued for not adhering to the FCRA. I know first hand that once these con-artist never report back to the credit beaureaus to release the debt or update its status.
This is becacuse they simply want to keep it to resell as good debt to another debt collection company or they keep it to recycle months later when they try to collect on it again when they
use a different company name pretending to be more authentic since they know you will probably not fall for the same mistake again. This happens all over the nation to thousands every single day.
And it's very sad but the authorities are doing nothing about it. I've tried to get law enforcement envolved but these guys are ghost, and now the internet makes calling from fake numbers that
are nearly impossible to be traced easy. So please, learn from my mistake. Never pay anyone anything before they can provide you with undeniable evidence that they have the authority
to collect the debt, either because they bought it and are the owner or because they can prove they have authority to collect as a third party on behalf of the loan originator.
This is your right to request under the Fair Credit Report Act. If they refuse then you have the right to tell them to stop harassing you until they do. If they continue to call then
tell your phone company to block it the number.
And finally, if you really want to punish them and try to get them caught then play along and act stupid for a few days while you record the calls, reverse trace the phone number or have the
phone company to trace its origin. Collect as much information as you can without spooking them. Then when you're ready tell them you want to make a payment but you don't have a credit or debit
card. Ask if you can make a direct deposit at the bank. A good excuse is that you have a lawn care service and you get paid in cash. Once you have an account number contact your local FBI office.
Settle for your local police detective if you have to. Convince them to help you with an under-cover sting to bring the criminals down. If we all work together then we can make a difference.
If you want reach out to me at sub7x7 at gmail.com I promise to help you anyway I can. I just don't want anyone to have to experience a debt-collection scam as I did.

||Caller ID identified them as Carpet Care in Buckeystown Maryland. No one on line when I answered. Apparently they don't believe in the Do Not Call list. Will report them -- I hear it's a $10,000 fine per call.

||When this call comes through dial *57. A recording will confirm whether it's been traced successfully. If the trace is successful, it will be forwarded to the phone abuse policing/security division of the phone company in Boston. If this occurs twice in 30 days the offenders local precinct will be notified resulting in police action (fines up to $500. for first offense, jail for future offenses).
||I get a call from this number and they leave an automated message using my maiden name (changed it 13 years ago). They say they're trying to trace my location and contact info and that if I don't call back they'll use the law to find me. She says she'll call my references if she has to. Then says to press 0 to talk to someone. I never press zero.
||Me too, I received a call from 727 835 8332 From a certain Shakirah. Provide me bunch of information about car coverage. offering a special policy.... after a while a get transferred to a certain Michael Graham who kept forever trying to convince me to buy the special policy they have. first of all I asked for the company's name, he told me they are PROTECTMYCAR, i said I don't know I'm gonna investigate about the company and come back to him. But he refused, It's like he wanna convince me to pick my visa or debit card to pay the policy right away. Listen, Shakirah left that number " 877 739 7206" I'm gonna talk to my wife about the offer and I'll be back to you. But I could feel, something is not right. I hate people forcing me for what is good for me. I had to end the call and started to investigate about the company and the number they gave me to call back. And I finally jump into all these bad comments about this number. actually it seems like PROTECTMYCAR is one of the best company when it comes to car coverage. but there are alot scammers out there using their names for their own purposes. if they ever call me again, I will surely give them a piece of my mind.
||Claimed to be with Desert Rose Medical Supplies about a back brace that I supposedly emailed them about. Took my address, insurance info, and doctor info to try to get a brace for me for free. Does not sound right! The callback phone number (877)912-1530 they left doesn't match Desert Rose phone numbers!

||Rogers and CBV Collections, has an agreemwnr with each other. rogers pays cbv collection for older accounts, meaning, they are paid by rogers communications to ONLY hasrass people while they cannot collect the debt. what's the purpose of this: rogers is truly an evil company. they pay CBV Collections, Inc. to harass people where rogers or CBV Collections, Inc. can no longer collect that debt. the debt may be legit or not in some cases but they are there to create a night-mare for people. this is evilness at its best by rogers company and CBV Collections, Inc.. they love creating pain and hardship for people who already has or is in pain of finanical and they want to kick these poor people further to the ground to hit them harder and harder each time.
there should be a national class action lawsuit against CBV Collections, Inc. and rogers. rogers must learn a lesson to not be evil. rogers has to learn from bell canada, to not go to extreme to harass people. their act is beyond harassment. if rogers communications or CBV Collections, Inc. has power and can get their hands on you to even get rid of f you. they will do it and will not hesitate. rogers communications and media follows an old ritual evil practice they do which is a step lower than sacrificing. they would sacrifce people for even $100. this is hard to belive but they will do it. it's a shame that a company goes this far for money to harass people beyond the means of life or laws. they will face justice soon.
||Won't stop calling. Left a message about offering a great rate on loans or something. Calling about 20-25 times per day for almost 2 days straight - all from various number combinations, but all from 317 & 313 area code. Calls start when I turn my phone on at 7am - SCAM
||I reported this on . call came in on appx pm.
||I am getting several phone calls per day from this number, and it is an unfamiliar number, and I know our data is mined and sold in spite of privacy claims so I do not answer. They do not leave any messages.
||his is i3 verticals/ infintech calling you to get information it is a horrible scam what they are doing but some companies will do whatever they can to get to the top. Even robot dialing their entire book of clients to drive out a worker they want to leave or to make a problem go away or brush things under the rug. Same stuff goes on in the the government I am sure, this is dirty that good business owners have to be part of this nonsense.
