8558974680 This number came up on my computer while I was searching for Teacher's prayers - I couldn't do anything on the computer - I called back, but I got mad while talking to him - I ended up shutting down the computer and re-starting -

8558974680 This is a well known scam, they load this stuff into advertisements or whatever and you go to a web site and wham you got it -  Internet Explorer is notorious for being susceptible to this -  That is why i use Firefox with adblock and a few other add ons -,

8558974680 With thanks to Slim--registered user here:Since the scammers accessed the computer, they probably did one or more of the following:• Disabled the anti-virus software• Added nasty malware to the computer• Copied the Contact List (so they can spam email your soon-to-be ex-friends)• Copied any financial data or passwords they could find• Compromised your ID• "Zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands sent via internet• Deleted some important files• Asked for money to repair the damage they causedWhat can you do immediately after such an attack? -  Pull the cables on the computer, so it cannot access the internet -  Change ALL  passwords stored on the computer -  Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode -  Change the passwords again, particularly if the malware scans showed anything -  Inform your bank and credit card companies -  Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently -  You may have to bring the computer to a local repair shop, and tell them the story - -  Tell friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you -  Plug in the cables only AFTER all the above have been done -  Change the passwords on all online accounts -  Even better - access a "safe", uninfected  computer, and chance your online account passwords RIGHT NOW -NOTE:If your computer set a "Restore Point" while it was infected, any "System Restore" you make will re-infect your computer -  Suggest you delete any potentially infected restore points and avoid setting such restore points until after your computer has been thoroughly cleanedYou fell for one scam, and might be susceptible to others mentioned on this site:phonehelp -truth -com facts_rev -htmlRead that info to educate and help protect yourselfHonest computer companies do NOT cold-call people, or cause popups from websites to tell them their computers need fixingSome scammers even have websites -Read the info at these links -news -softpedia -com news Cold-Call-Tech - - on- -shtmlwww -consumer -ftc -gov articles -tech-support-scamsLesson:If your computer needs fixing, bring it to a local repair shopRemember to return here, to notes -com, after you look at any of the information at the above sites, either to post more information, or to let us know you avoided the scam or fixed the computer correctly -

8558974680 I just had the same thing, like an idiot I let them into my computer -  I have no important information on my laptop but they showed me hundreds of corrupted files that aren't even possible -  I called the number myself as it looked like I had no internet service -  Grrrrrrr

855-897-4680 Below is what I usually write but this one was different There was a pop-up on my lady's screen and it gave -- to call - Well she did and same "STUFF" They tried to get her to pay to unlock her screen, she felt that it was a scam and hung up and turned off the computer - Lucky no problems - She told me and I looked up the number and see it is a scam I called the number from a secondary number and a broken English speaking "CLOWN" said that he was a subsidiary for Microsoft - Wanted me to logon and give him my IP address - Ya know I did NOT The crooks no longer wear black hats and maskMicrosoft again - They call about every day or two -  I have them logged as Microsoft Spammer and it goes to my voice mail - My outgoing message says it you are a telemarketer hang the hell up now - Well not that the listen but they never leave a message - LOL  I get too many annoying calls like this mostly every day - The government's Do Not Call is uselessI am glad that my Sprint phone allows me to tag these numbers on a reject list and never to hearfrom that number again - Problem is the clowns keep changing number - When that same numbercalls the next time I do not know it and it will go to my voice mail - If they do call and stay on the line my outgoing announcement says if you are a telemarketer, "Hang the hell up now" -These calls are mostly from SPOOF numbers, here is how they do it                                                            www -spoofcard -com Why does the government do anything about it?www -cleveland -com business index -ssf - - obocalls_u -html

8558974680 Same thing happened five minutes ago to me  Called the "toll-free" number; man with foreign (Indian) accent stated he was from (stumbled over the word) "Microsoft," and he "needed to get into my computer -"  He asked if he had my permission, I got suspicious and said, "No, I don't trust you -"  I then hung up -  SO GLAD I DID  These people are PARASITES
