Post by Sarah Sue,

800-289-1179 Banks and Insurance Co - have all your info by doing skip tracing - They do not need to call and ask you for the information -

Post by mary,

8002891179 i have no prescriptions coming up for refill in the next or weeks -  i hang up when anybody asks for private info when i did not initiate the call and don't know who is actually on the other end of the phone -   just sayin' -

Post by Buckshot,

800-289-1179 On -- I posted on this forum that I used the "press " option that would supposedly end these annoying calls from Wallgreens - We're still getting them -

Post by Lynne,

8002891179 Yes, this is Walgreens - It is not letting you know that there is a prescription ready for pickup - It is letting you know that that one of your prescriptions is ready for refill - The number called is the one that is linked to your prescription account -

Post by Dave,

800-289-1179 Yes,  talked to my W pharmacy and they said this is legit -  They do this as a courtesy reminder, wish I had known earlier, hung up figuring it was a scam -  nd call left a message -

Post by ChristianC,

8002891179 How do I know your story is true? If this is a scam, as I strongly suspect, would it be unreasonable to expect the perpetrators to propagate false testimonies regarding the authenticity of such calls?I am not convinced in the least -

Post by EstherD,

800-289-1179 I haven't read all of your postings, but the ones I have read lead me to believe that you're pretty darn paranoid when it comes to unsolicited calls - Not necessarily a bad thing these days - However, in this case you are INSUFFICIENTLY paranoid - Are you blissfully unaware of just how INCREDIBLY EASY it is to spoof caller ID? So if you're not going to trust info from the caller, and you're not going to trust info from other posters in this forum, then maybe you shouldn't be so trusting of your phone's caller ID, either - Just a thought - - -- EstherD

8002891179 Not Walgreens BUT trying to solicit as rd party to provide your tracked perscrp Walgreens didn't give them your # - you did through another service at some point recently they track your cell # match it to local area then track pharmacy auto call system (obviously it's computer based) they match your called number to the auto call system that Walgreens etc uses so Walgreens has to work out the fact most likely some rd party (possibly makes them liable through the systems they did not realize were not as secure) can and has access to get read track numbers to find and match to your # you gave them and another system calls around the time it is programed to do so - again it's likely that no one has quite figured it out or wants to acknowledge yet until it's clarified because of the legal implications around pharm medical etc - - Most likely they take chance and have no other information besides your # you provided most likely for some other reason and matching what automated systems have called your number, who uses those automated systems and obviously, most likely, is a pretty easy task via matching a number etc - -once they set up a system to track - it may even be through a company Walgreens works with that provides service and who knows - - They will stop using this # soon and most likely have the ID of others etc - -  Most likely they are now realizing this business strategy was not a great idea due to the implications etc - - As it was required the last yrs ALL medical records had to become paperless etc - - They want to provide your birthdate they get from you as they have your other info to match to your scripts - that's the identifying factor of most all medical records - your birthdate - - Your birthdate and first name do not change etc -  And you have to change your name legally BUT your not going to change your birthdate on all legal documents - Anyway obviously don't give any information out over the phone bottom line, there is NO reason to EVER unless YOU make the CALL and are soliciting something or want access your information to, NEVER if someone calls you  - IF Walgreens were intending the "cold call" they would not provide NOR ask you if they called you regarding this - - you would be prompted to complete or provide your information through a secure server or in person writing NOT over the phone - they want another piece to make it look like they have been given the info by you to your provider AND to you that your provider is the one that is prompting the turn over of your scripts if you choose most likely somehow they are providing some service that does discount to both the provider & patient and your script woukd still go through walgreens and somehow without anyone really acknowledging that there was dishonesty in the solicitation etc but they hope automatically somehow it will in masses of quantity the discounts they can provide in secured renewals through whatever will be proven before they fail - they started wrong though - you can't "SCAM" faster then it would take to become reputable and they would most likely depend on taking over a tremendous amount of business to beable to provide discounts to all parties - - If companies have an opportunity to provide discounted services as we know anything you buy more of you can get cheaper - - So great BUT it is unfortunate we all lose if these companies try to turn it over too fast - they want to make s buck they must invest in doing it properly not only to win our trust but they will make more money longer - - Unfortunately most new businesses are not Loki g to invest much if anything especially time because no one has the resources to catch up keep up etc once they start - -

Post by Nelson,

800-289-1179 How do you find out who pays the phone bill for this number? May find out who it really is -

Post by Just Jaye,

8002891179 Walgreens always leaves a message so I am very surprised that they would call & not leave a message - I already had a call from them this week, not the same number & a message was left Walgreens is the best & has the state of the art technology so I really feel it was not Walgreens

Post by Lynn,

800-289-1179 I received a message at my parents house, they assured my parents voice mail they were not trying to sell me anything and that she would call back -  Here is the problem, I have not lived at my parents house in years, and I go to Walgreen's about once a week to pick up prescriptions, so Walgreen's knows my correct contact information -  I am not sure I buy this but I will be going to Walgreen's this week and I will check into this -
